A small study of bacterial contamination in hotel rooms suggests that housekeeping practices need to be improved, at least in certain areas. While headboards, curtain rods, and bathroom door handles were among the cleanest surfaces in the rooms, TV remotes and bedside lamp switches were found to be as contaminated as toilet seats and sinks.
